Morang/November 7, Police have arrested Laxman Mandal, member of Kochila State Council of CPN-M from Sisbani Jahadaa VDC-5 on November 6 night. The other leaders of the party escaped arrest after they were not found in their home. Mandal's arrest comes following the District Security Committee's strategy to arrest the cadres of the party. Police had raided the house of four people yesterday but none of them were found in their home. Police had arrested Vice-chairperson of Tharu Rastriya Mukti Morcha and Kochila State Committee member Hridaya Lal Tharu on November 1. Chief of District Police Office Biswaraj Pokharel said that both Tharu and Mandal were charged under the Some Public Offence Act. SP Pokharel said that they were arrested for being involved in anti-election activities. District Secretary of CPN-M Lochan Dhamala said that the government had turned repressive. He said that the police had arrested CPN-M cadres while they were conducting peaceful protests against the CA election.
