In the investigation conducted by the Municipality Police Complex, Lalitpur has confirmed that the suspicious death of a man in "We care" rehabilitation centre was beaten. But they are not sure if 43-year-Sitaram Ghimire died because of the beating. They are waiting for the post-mortum reports. The relatives of the deceased demanded the proper investigation of the case after they saw some blue marks in his body. Police have arrested Shiring Sherpa and Sunil Khadka on the basis of complained filed by the deceased family while Sudhir Karki and Mukunda KC are still on run. Police are further investigating the case.
Ghimire was admitted to the rehab by his family on 17th January for drinking alcohol excessively. It is learnt that he was beaten on 19th by Sudhir and Mukunda during the interaction inside the rehab centre. The rehab operator was also aware of the incident. He has accepted that sometimes other patients in the centre also gets the beating to make them behave properly but they have never beaten someone to death.
