UCPN (Maoist) breaches silence hr

KAKADBHITTA, NOV 18 In what can be termed as a breach of election code of conduct , candidates have been found campaigning discreetly in the constituencies despite the announcement of silence hour beginning Saturday midnight. It has been learnt that the UCPN (Maoist) distributed flyers against Jhapa-1 candidate Rabin Koirala and Nepali Congress candidate Bishwo Prakash Sharma in the eve of the election in Kakadbhitta. The UCPN (Maoist) distributed flyers to lure the voters in the name of Mechinagar civil society, it is learnt. As per the election code of conduct , parties and non government organisations can not publicise and broadcast anything against the candidate's character. The UML has claimed that UCPN (Maoist) candidate Bodhraj Dhakal himself was involved in the incident. The UML has filed a case against the UCPN (Maoist) candidate in the Jhapa branch of Election Commission for his act. Chief election officer Ramesh Khatri has said that investigation into the incident has been initiated in the district.
