Ratan Bahadur Tamang, 69, of Lahan Municipality-9, Gothtol, was killed after he failed to pay back Rs 4500, which he had borrowed when he was ill. The money was lent to Tamang by Gyan Bahadur Thapa Magar, 55, of Rajbiraj Municipality-3 in Saptari.
Ratan was found murdered in Balan Khola of Lahan municipality-17 on Saturday. His body bore sharp weapon attack injuries. Police arrested Magar on Wednesday from Dhangadhimai municipality-10 on the charge of murder of Tamang. Area Police Office Lahan made him public during a press meet on Thursday.
