The victim’s party have complained and accused ward chairman Laxmi Karki of Thulibheri Municipality-11 of attempting to settle the case of cast based discrimination.  Man Bahadur B.K,38 of the sane municipality was discriminated and beaten by 23 years old Deepak Karki based on his caste.

After the incident, the victim went on the District Police Office to lodge complaint however the victim said that the complaint was denied for registration due to the political pressure.

The victim’s party said that the ward chairman settled the case without taking action against the accused.

The constitution of Nepal has given the jurisdiction to District Police Office to review the case of cast based discrimination however victims are getting more victim after the police are showing apathy on cast based discrimination cases according to campaigner Lila Tamata.
