Kathmandu/October 31, The Election Commission (EC) has directed UCPN-Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal not to use helicopter in election campaigns in future without permission. A meeting of the EC held on October 31 concluded that the Dahal had demanded for the use of helicopter on October 30 but had not received the permission. Spokesperson of EC Bir Bahadur Rai said that if the violation of election code of conduct is repeated, the candidacy of the poll candidate would be cancelled as provided by Section 29 of the Election Commission act, 2007. The EC has also decided to issue a direction to UCPN-M Central Office not to interrupt any election campaigns of other political parties following a complaint of UCPN-M obstructing the NC campaign in Nuwakot. After violation of election code of conduct increased in Kathmandu Valley, a team of EC staffs had conduct monitoring on October 30. Rai added that during the monitoring, hundreds of posters, flags of the political parties which were posted in the public places were removed. He also said that direction has been given to the police offices to remove such publicity materials in other remaining places.
