45-Year-old Jhalo Devi Khanga of Tilathi Koiladi rural municipality-8 became a victim of violence at the hands of her relatives, Laxmi Khanga, 64, Balram Khanga, 48, and Subhadevi Khanga, 45. The victim lodged a complaint at District Police Office against the three on May 19 stating that they physically assaulted her alleging her of being a witch.
According to the victim, the incident took place at night on May 18, when she was alone. Her husband and children were at their relatives home to attend some celebration. The perpetrators always attacked us when they were having problems or somebody got ill at their home, she added.
The victim was seriously injured in the attacked. The doctors have referred her to Dharan after she could not be treated at Gajendranarayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj.
