35-year-old Anil Kumar Sah and 32-year- old Bibhesh Kumar Sah, sons of deputy-mayor of Sukhipur municipality residing in Sukhipur municipality-8 have reportedly beaten a local Dalit man Bechan Das Tatma for confronting their father Laxman Sah Teli.
According to the victim, Tatma who held a press conference to make public the injustice he was facing, deputy mayor's sons beat him when he went to Laxman's furniture shop to enquire about why the windows and door frames he had ordered were not being delivered on time. Upon hearing Tatma's complain Laxman threatened him saying he was an important person of the municipality.
He said that he had been facing harassment at the hands of the deputy mayor's husband and sons. He also lamented that, although he had lodged a complaint at Area Police Office, the police there were being bribed by the deputy mayor not to take any action.
