Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu

After a meeting with all the Dalit student unions and leaders of Dalit movement on Saturday, the Dalit Development Committee announced the formation of a Joint Struggle Committee for the protest against the advertisement published by the Public Service Commission.

Soon after the announcement, they reached at Maitighar mandala, protesting against the advertisement saying it has violated proportional and inclusive principles. They also demanded that the advertisement issued by the Public Service Commission be rejected. The Committee has claimed that the advertisement issued by the Public Service Commission has rejected the reservation received by the Dalit community through the inclusive and proportional system.

Speaking at a discussion of the Dalit Development Committee, Tilak Pariyar, Coordinator of Nepal Dalit Open Organization, said that no one could take away the rights of Dalits by going against the constitution.

The executive director of the Dalit Development Committee, Dr.Budhi Nepali, claimed that the rights of Dalit as guaranteed in the Constitution are being taken away in a planned way and that they would reclaim their rights through the protests.

Dalit rights activist and social scholar Dr.Nirmala Biswakarma argued that the Public Service Commission should abolish the advertisement.
