The National Human Rights Organization has drawn attention on the incident of beating nine people including campaigner Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi and officials from the organization called “Nepali for Nepal” by the police after their arrest.

The commission has conducted a monitoring on the situation of injured Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi who is undergoing treatment in Trauma Center under Bir Hospital on June 1.

“ The monitoring has found that the victim sustained keg injuries due to the torture in the custody and he was arrested without the arrest warrant. The commission is doing further investigation regarding the incident”, said the press statement released by the secretary Bed Prasad Bhattarai of the commission.

The commission has drawn the attention of the government saying that It is the citizen’s right to do a peaceful assembly and demanded the government to provide the effective treatment to the victim.
