5-year-old, Estar Rai, a student at Little Angle School in Kamal Rural Municipality-5 of Jhapa sustained a serious ear injury after being beaten by her teacher.
According to Durga Rai, the girl's mother, Ester's eardrum shattered when a teacher slapped her hard on Monday when the school was about to close.
Although teachers, claimed that Ester sustained a minor injury after falling in school, she reported to her mother that, Minthana, a female teacher slapped her four times due to which she heard a snapping noise in her ear.
Doctor Gyanendra Sah, the pharmacist at Himal Pharmacy where the girl was taken for treatment claimed that the injury was minor and would heal on its own through medication. The girl's mother, however, insisted that he was colluding with the school administration. The principal of the school claimed that he had not neglected the incident.
