The State Restructuring Commission has submitted its report on January 31. Coordinator of the Commission, Madan Pariyar handed over the report proposing 11-state model to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.

While Coordinator Pariyar handed over to the prime minister its report incorporating the opinion of the majority, the minority members submitted their different report proposing six states to him.

The states are Limbuwan, Kirant, Tamsaling, Newa, Tamuwan, Narayani, Magarat, Karnali-Khaptad, Mithila-Bhojpura-Koch-Madhe-, Lumbini-Abadh-Tharuwan and Dalit (non-territorial).
