The youths of Dharan-18 staged a protest against Health and Population Minister Upendra Yadav for appointing Rajkumar Runiyar as vice-chancellor of B.P Koirala institute, Dharan. About 200 people, including the Ward Chairperson -18, Praveen Rai, have protested against Yadav's move. They staged a demonstration at the main entrance and shouted slogans, "Stop the appointment of a visa in pursuit of money", "Stop political interference in the institute", "Investigate the pending issue immediately".

Demonstrators protested saying that by changing the vice-chancellor as soon as the minister is changed,  has made B.P. Koirala Health institute a laboratory for the fulfillment of own purpose. Ward Chairperson Rai said that the ministers and officials of Institute should work within the rules and focus on serving the general public in a holistic manner.
