Cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) set ablaze Ncell tower in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City on Wednesday night, according to police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Daksha Basnet at Kailali District Police office (DPO) said that the perpetrators set fire to the Jali-based Ncell tower at 12:15 am today. He said they had cut the lock to enter the tower.

Although no pamphlets or posters were found at the site, police suspected the involvement of CPN cadres behind the attack.

It has been reported that the fire completely damaged the batteries in the tower. Police prevented further damage to the tower as they reached the site soon after getting information about the attack.

Meanwhile, investigation into the case is underway.
