An unidentified group has set fire to the Ncell tower in Patharishanche Municipality-1 Mangare, Morang on Wednesday night. The fire has caused minor damage to the power supply of the battery at the tower.

Some wires are burnt. According to DSP Laxmiraj Adhikari of the Area Police Office, Pathari, a fire was made using a jute sack while spraying petrol and it did not cause any major damage.

"Given the nature of the incident, the plan was to do a lot of damage," the official said, "but the damage was only normal." A plastic bottle used for carrying gasoline has been found at the scene.

On Thursday morning, locals had informed the police that they saw a fire. Ncell tower was installed by renting the local Bal Krishna Dahal's land. The DSP officer said that the firefighter was not identified and an investigation was started on the incident.
