Police, on September 5, arrested 52-year-old Rudra Bahadur Thapa of Besisahar Municipality-10 on the charge of beating 48-year-old Devbahadur Gahatraj, the member of the executive office of Sishara Municipality.
On September 4 while Gahatraj was returning from the office, he was attacked by Thapa. On the same day, the victim reported to the District Police Office, Lamjung.
DSP Gurung said that the accused has been detained and the investigation is ongoing. The victim has sustained injuries to the hand, neck, and left leg. According to Doctor Prakash Sahu of District Community Hospital, the victim has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment on September 5.
