An e-rickshaw driver sustained serious after being beaten by traffic police in Birgunj. Santosh Patel, driver of e-rickshaw bearing plate number Na 1 Ha 6671 sustained injury on his left ear when traffic police sub-inspector Suresh Yadav beat him for allegedly boarding passengers on the road. Patel is undergoing treatment at Narayani Bayodha hospital in Gandak chowk of Birgunj.
Traffic police Yadav had beaten Patel on Wednesday evening while he was boarding passengers on e-rickshaw. Patel's ear started bleeding when Yadav hit him with walki-talkie set. The antennae of the walkie-talkie set went inside Patel's ear causing heavy bleeding. On Thursday, Patel's brother said, doctors have told that he will have to stay in the hospital for a few more days.
