JHAPA: Police have arrested two leaders of the Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand from Jhapa.
A police team in civil uniform from the State 1 state police office, acting on a special tip-off, held Prabin Mishra, the party’s Jhapa district secretary and member Tika Pokharel from Jhapa district on Monday.
The arrestee duo has been charged with detonating an improvised explosive device in a vehicle being used by Sagat Mishra, chief administrative officer at Gauradaha municipality some days ago. Investigations are going on, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendra Kumar Shrestha.
Based on their statement, police have recovered two sets of homemade guns, four rounds of bullet, donation receipt, minuting book and dairies from the rented room of Anil Saru Magar in Birtamod municipality-4. Anil Saru Magar, a Biplov cadre, is also arrested.
