Anusha Limbu, 26, of Khamlung VDC-3 has been admitted to the District Hospital for treatment of the injuries sustained in beating by her family. Limbu was admitted to the hospital on November 22 with the help of her neighbors. She said that her step-mother-in-law Aita Maya Limbu beat her on November 20 with stone in which she sustained head and eye injuries. “I went to the hospital a day after the incident and got some medicines. But my face began to swell and the neighbors brought me to the hospital”, she said. She added that she had filed a complaint at Dobhan Area Police Office on November 21 but had to agree for compromised after pressure by the police. Anusha’s husband is undergoing treatment at BPKIHS, Dharan four months after being injured in an attacked. She said that she became vulnerable in the absence of her husband. Meanwhile, another victim of domestic violence Geeta Limbu, 36, of Phungling VDC-4 has refused to leave the hospital even after being discharged. Geeta was admitted to the hospital on November 28 after being injured in physical assault by her mother-in-law Asarmati and sisters-in-law Ganga and Basanti.
