Man attacks school principal with khukuri in Myagdi alleging her a "witch"

Area Police Office Darbang arrested 27-year-old Ramesh Pun of Malika Rural Municipality-2 on the charge of assaulting Indra Kumari Pun, principal of Rastriya Janakalyan Primary School with Khukuri on November 13 alleging her a witch.
Kumari was air-lifted to Manipal Teaching Hospital, Pokhara for medical treatment. The injured principal sustained serious injuries in the ears, head, and hands.
According to Kharmaya Bitalu, Deputy-chairperson of Malika Rural Municipality, Ramesh revealed to the police during interrogation after arrest, that he attacked Kumari with khukuri as she had been troubling him as a "witch". Police are further investigating the incident.
