Modi’s effigy burnt at Kanchanpur border

2019-11-08

Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's effigy has been burnt to protest against Kalapani and Lipulekh being published on India’s map at Kanchanpur border.

The residents protested by shouting the slogan 'Go Back India' on the outskirts of Mahakali and Bhimdutta Municipality. The ruling party Nepal Communist Party (CPN-UML) has also protested against the Indian intervention by organizing a motorcycle rally.

The youth present at the protest have warned to protest until India corrects it’s map. They also urge the Nepalese government to seek solutions through diplomatic initiatives. India has been facing strong opposition in Nepal since the new map showed Kalapani and Lipulekh in their country.
