An explosion occurred at the office of a micro-finance company located in Punarbas Municipality of Kanchanpur district, in the early hours today.
Branch Manager Bhawani Bhatta said he was alerted at around 1:05 am after hearing the explosion while he was asleep. He added, “Earlier, an unidentified group had demanded a donation of Rs 50,000; the blast could have been a result of not heeding to that demand.”
Pamphlets were found at the crime scene, which stated that financial institutions were responsible for causing women to suffer from mental stress and sexual abuse.
Police inspector Wakil Singh, chief of Tribhuvan Basti based Area Police Office, said there were no injuries or physical damage reported in the explosion.
