A man died mysteriously after he manhandled a woman in Bhanu Municipality, Tanahun, yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar Kumal, 55, of Rainas Municipality, Lamjung.
The villagers thrashed Kumal and handed him over to police after he misbehaved with a woman under the influence yesterday. Police said Kumal entered the woman’s house and misbehaved with her. The villagers gathered at the woman’s house after she screamed for help and thrashed Kumal.
According to Purkot Police Post, Kumal died in the course of treatment at Turture-based Gorkha Community Polyclinic the same night.
SP Binod Silwal of Tanahun District Police Office said investigation into the incident was under way. Police said that Tej Raj Gurung, 51, Pritam Raj Gurung, 44, and Yam Bahadur Kham, 63, were also taken under control for investigation. The body has been taken to Damauli Hospital for post-mortem, said police.
