Narjan Tamang, 29, correspondent of Nepal Television and Naya Patrika from Humla’s Changkheli Rural Municipality- 5 was given death threat by Ramjan Shahi, 28 and Jagdish Hamal, 30, of Kharpunath rural municipality- 4.
He had filed a complaint on 27 December at the police station. He was threatened for publishing the news of them breaking into the Food Depot in the Naya Patrika. Tamang was scuffled around 20 meters away from the office of the rural municipality while returning from the field.
During the struggle he was saved by some locals. DSP Ram Prasad Gharti Magar of District Police Office said Yachung Police Station’s team has been delegated for his safety and further investigation.
