Saptari Police have arrested 25-year-old Sonu Mandal of Kanchanrup Municipality-8 along with his other five friends on the charge of torching auto-rickshaw.
According to police, the other arrestees are 32-year-old Mahanarayan Khang, 23-year-old Jayprakash Chaudhary, 22-year-old Sagar Chaudhary, 15-year-old Santosh Chaudhary, and 18-year-old Ramesh Khang.
DSP Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Area Police Office, informed eight people were involved in the arson of the auto-rickshaw and search for the other two is going on.
The group reportedly torched the autorickshaw two days after they had a minor dispute with its driver on Durga Bhawani Fair where the autorickshaw slightly hit one of the men. With the intention of exacting revenge for the same, the group torched the rickshaw by taking it to a Bamboo forest.
