The District Court of Sankhuwasabha has ordered 7-year sentence to Anbar Bahadur Rai alias Binod of Mamling VDC-1 convicting him of attempting of trafficking a 23-year-old woman of Siddhapokhari VDC-8 under the pretext of marrying her. A single bench of District Judge Tika Ram Uprety issued the order on January 6. The other convict Hukum Singh Dangi has been sentenced for three years in same case. The victim had lodged a complaint against them at Area Police Office of Chainpur on May 7, 2013 accusing them of attempting to traffic her with promise of marriage. The police had charged them under women trafficking case the next day after the complaint was filed. The accused were sent to District prison in Khandbari on May 26 for investigation according to the District court order. The victim had lodged the complaint following suspicious behavior of the accused after marriage. The accused had given her his fake address and name while marrying her.
