A 40-year-old Dalit woman has been beaten in Mayadevi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1. According to Anita Pasi, the victim, Sanahe Yadav, Hariram Yadav, Badki Takiyahi, and Chhotki Takiyahi beat her during a dispute over sprinkling water on the road. The Yadav family beat Anita on April 19 saying that lower caste should not sprinkle water while she sprinkled water on the road when the wind blew the dust. The investigation is going on and if found guilty, action will be taken according to the untouchability law, said SP Sunil Malla of the District Police Office Kapilvastu.
