Man faces discrimination in funeral rites because of inter-caste marriage

Purnaman Shrestha of Baganasakali Rural Municipality-1 has faced discrimination while conducting funeral rituals of his 76-year-old mother Man Kumari Shrestha who passed away on May 8. Shrestha had married a Dalit woman fourteen years ago.
Shrestha was barred from cremating his mother because of the inter-caste marriage. He is not allowed to stay with the rest of the family and is kept at a hut near the house.
