Police arrested 40-year-old Nira Khatri Adhikari on the charge of killing 82-year-old Jasuda Adhikari of Kawasoti Municipality-8. The police arrested Nira based on a complaint lodged by Chandrakant Adhikari, son of the deceased and husband of the accused woman. 

According to police, the incident took place on Friday night. To cover up the murder, Nira took her mother-in-law to the Madhyabindu District Hospital for treatment, saying she sustained an injury because of falling on her way to the toilet. The hospital sent the body back saying that the woman had died before reaching the hospital.

After the postmortem, it was found that the woman died of a head injury.
