Thage Kunwar, 32, of Agarneta in Kupindedaha VDC-2 has tried to murder his wife and two sons by setting them on fire at the home in the night of March 9. Sunita Kunwar, 34, managed to come out of the house by breaking the room. She said that he had come home drunk around 9 pm and that she was already asleep. She woke up when the room was filled with smoke. Her two sons, Harihar, 13, and Bhupendra, 8, realized about fire only when the roof caved in and they came out uninjured. She added that he had been assaulting them repeatedly in the past. The fire has destroyed their home completely including the belongings, food and clothes. Police has arrested Thage following the incident and is kept in custody. She has filed complaint of attempted murder, polygamy and demand for share of his property on March 10. Thage who was married to Sunita in 2000, had got married to another woman in 2006.
