Kapilbastu/March 17 The locals have handed over Police Head Constable Ram Bahadur Bishta of Ganeshpur Area Police Office on charge of attempting to rape a 19-year-old woman. Bishta was handed over to the police on March 15 after he was nabbed by the locals when the woman shouted for help while resisting his predatory moves on the road at Gugauli Nyaulagunj in the evening of March 15. The people handed them over to the police teams of Sundaridanda Police Station and Ganeshpur Area Police Office after a written pledge to the villagers of taking action against the accused Head Constable. DSP Mahendra Khadka commented that Bisth had not raped the women while claiming that they had an affair. He further said that the police were investigating the accusation by taking him in custody.
