A group led by Mayor Lal Bahadur Mahatara of Chhedagad municipality, Jajarkot, has beaten up local businessman Dikaram Jaisi and his wife on the evening of July 13 in their shop because they refused to provide materials unless their previous due was cleared. They have been providing materials for the building being constructed at Bal Higher Secondary School since 2014 and are yet to collect 1.4 million rupees. The assault resulted in his head injury and his wife's broken arm. Despite repeated attempts to understand the incident, the perpetrator was unreachable.
