Kavre/ April 3 The District Court of Kavre has slapped 22 years of imprisonment to a 63-year-old father on charge of raping his intellectually challenged unmarried 40-year-old daughter of Patlekhet VDC-8. A single court in session by a District judge Krishna Ram Koirala gave his verdict on April 2. Earlier, the accused was caught by local women and handed over to the police on March 24, 2013, after learning that he repeatedly raped his daughter. The victim said that he repeatedly raped her while he was on the mourning period following the death of her mother. The incident was revealed after she took shelter at her relative’s place to avoid the abuse. She got a health checkup at TU Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu on April 5, 2013. The office of the district attorney lodged a complaint on April 21, 2013 at District Court and was remanded in custody. The victim was living in a shelter at Interim Women Shelter in Dhulikhel since March 29, 2013 and was handed over to the family on May 15, 2013. B
