Woman assaulted on allegation of witchcraft, accused arrested in Salyan

Police arrested 56-year-old Kaushila Budathoki and her husband 58-year-old Meghlal Budathoki on the charge of assaulting 54-year-old single woman Hirmi Budhathoki of Syanikhal, Sarada Municipality Ward-13 alleging her a witch. The victim was beaten by the couple along with her sister Bimala Basnet while returning from a relative's house on July 21 and sustained head injury.
The accused have been remanded to custody and police are investigating the incident.
