A video of Bajhang's Masta Rural Municipality chairman Karna Bahadur Kathayat abusing an old man has gone viral on social media where he is threatening and abusing the 77-year-old Piru Rokaya of Naura village of the same municipality. In the video, Chairman Kathayat is seen repeatedly insulting the old man. Piru Rokaya, the old man, told Kantipur that the incident in the video released on Saturday evening took place on  July 26. A few months ago, the victim protested against the construction of the road in his village Naura in a way that endangered the village thus chairman had mistreated him out of anger. A statement issued by CPN (Maoist) District Committee Bajhang Chairman Min Bahadur Kunwar and Secretary Daman Bhandari asked Chairman Kathayat to submit an explanation to the party within seven days.
