2 police personnel including, Inspector Roshan Pandey, of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Butwal, has abused journalists Dinesh Pandey, Vice-President of the Rupendehi branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, and Bhagwati Pandey, a Setopati correspondent and News Chief of Lumbini Television. They snatched Pandey's camera and assaulted the duo over a dispute while they were trying to take a picture of the inspection of vehicles on August 3.
The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has expressed objections to the mistreatment of journalists and interference with the freedom of the press. FNJ has urged to take action against those involved in the incident and not to repeat such incidents.
