Journalist of Kantipur Daily Ganesh Chaudhary was assaulted on August 10 while returning to home from Janaki Rural Municipality Ward No. 6 Jagatpur of Kailali. Bhoj Raj Chaudhary, who was with him, sustained head injuries and journalist Chaudhary sustained facial injuries. Journalist Chaudhari identified the attackers but is unknown why they attacked them as there had been no dispute before.

Nepal Federation of Indigenous Tribes (FONJ) Kailali has also condemned the incident and demanded action against the culprits.
