Kanchanpur/May 2 Hikmat Chaudhary, 21, and Kalu Chaudhary, 20, of Bhimdatta Municipality-2 have been injured in the beating by police constable Dhirendra Panta, posted at Ward Police Office Mahendranagar on May 1. The police had arrested them after they wounded a local, Amit Air following a brawl on May 1. Laptan Chaudhary, the thrashed men's father said that Panta beat them up after a compromised was reached between the two sides. He added that both had sustained leg injuries and were being treated at Mahakali Zonal Hospital. Laptan filed an appeal at INSEC District Office seeking initiation for action against the accused policeman. When asked, SP Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary told INSEC DR that Pant had been summoned to District Police Office for inquiry.
