Khukuri Attack in Prison Leaves Four Injured

Sunsari/ May 6 Four inmates in regional prison of Jhumka were injured when a 35-year-old Harish Chandra Rai attacked them with Khukuri on May 5. The inmates Chitra Bahadur Karki, 25, of Itahari Municipality, Man Kumar Rai, 24, of Dharan Municipality-9, Bhuwan Gurung, Harish Chandra were injured in the attack, said jailer Ganesh Adhikari. Among those injured, Chitra Bahadur sustained a neck injury and was taken to BP Memorial hospital at Dharan and his condition is very critical. The other injured are getting treatment at Neuro hospital, Biratnagar. Jailer Adhikari said that the accused Harish Chandra suffers from psychological disorder. He further said that he was taken to Kathmandu previously for the mental treatment. He was brought back after another case was filed against him, he said. Rai was arrested on charge of smuggling drugs and attempted murder.
