First Continuous Hearing in district For Rape Case

Morang, jilla adalatdwara gambhir prakritiko muddha samay ma nai kinara lagaune. Morang/May 8 District Court has conducted a continuous hearing to decide a case of rape of a minor. The victim, an 11-year-old girl was raped by her 31-year-old relative of Morang district which was decided in 24 days because of the continuous hearing. The FIR of the incident was filed at Letang Area Police Office on March 28 and the case was filed in court on April 1. The case was decided in continuous hearing as it was an incestuous rape, District Court judge, Rishiram Niraula said. He added that this was the first time the court conducted a continuous hearing in such case in the district. District Court registrar Dhruba Kumar Dhakal said the man was convicted of incest attracting 10 years in prison and eight more years for rape. The court also ordered the convict to pay Rs 50,000 as compensation. He added that the timely gathering of evidence made it easy for bench for continuous hearing.
