Okhaldhunga, jatiya vibhed garne virudh ujuri. Okhaldhunga/May 14 Two youths of Jyamire VDC-8 have registered a complaint of caste-based discrimination at the District Police Office on May 13. Subash Nepali, 21 and Bikash Nepali stated that they were subjected to caste discrimination and mistreated in the marriage of neighbor Aita Bahadur Magar. According to the duo, they were asked to attend the marriage of Magar on May 10 but when they tried to put tika on the forehead of groom and the bride, they were not allowed to touch them. The victims have filed complaint against groom Magar, Kaluman Magar and joint Guthi. DSP Govinda Adhikari of the District Police Office said that both sides were called for discussion but they could not come to consensus. He said that both sides were asked to come after holding a discussion in the village. The victims said that no action was taken against their complaint. Dalit rights activists have demanded not to make agreement in case of caste discrimination.
