Saptari/May 19 The District Court on May 19 has slapped life imprisonment with confiscation of property to Amarendra Goit, 33, of Trikaul VDC-3 for killing Islam Miya of Lohjara VDC-8 after abduction. Goit is member of the team formed by the armed outfit Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha to hold dialogue with the government. Judge Durga Prasad Dhungel issued the verdict convicting him of shooting dead Miya, said Srestedar Nabaraj Dulal of the district court. The court has acquitted other accused Surendra Goit and Sunil Lagarwar while the case has been put on hold in case of other accused Jay Prakash Yadav. Body of Miya was thrown at a river after shooting him dead on March 7, 2010. Wife of the deceased, Sahadin Khatun registered a complaint against the accused on March 19, 2010. The accused were remanded in custody since March 20, 2010 at the District Prison by the order of the then Judge Kiran Prasad Shivakoti. The accused, who were later kept in District Prison Ramechhap, are not kept in Regional Prison Jhumka of Sunsari.
