Police have arrested 40-year-old Santaram Loniya (40), Ramkesh Loniya (35), Bihari Mallaha (37), Srikanti Mallaha (39) and Narmada Mallaha (30) of Sudhdhodhan Rural Municipality-1, Kapilbastuo, on October 8, on the charge of caste-based-discrimination on a 24-year-old woman of the same place. They were accused of abusing a Dalit woman by hurling racially demeaning slurs.

According to the DSP  Rathor of the Area Police Office, Butwal, the victim had lodged a complaint of caste-based-discrimination at the Area Police Office, Butwal on October 8. He said 25-year-old Manju Mallah is absconding. DSP Rathor said they have taken action against the accused under The Caste-Based Discrimination and Untouchability (Offense and Punishment) Act, 2068 (2011).
