A clash took place between policemen and smugglers in Rajbiraj Municipality, Ward No. 13, Musaharniya on Tuesday night, October 13 at around 10 pm. The police after receiving advance notice about the smuggled goods cordoned off the area when the smugglers were trying to bring goods from India meanwhile the smugglers called the locals who came with home-made weapons attacked the police. Police constables Kamal Dev Yadav and Dipendra Shah got their head injured in the attack and seven stitches were put on their head.
According to SP Dhamala, the situation was brought under control by firing four rounds in the air when about 70 locals tried to attack the police. However, the smugglers had fled with their belongings in the meantime and the search for the fugitives is going on.
