Saptari/June 9 Pramila Adhikari, 30, of Sitapur VDC-8 has filed a complaint against six villagers on June 9 for physically attacking her on charge of being a witch. The accused are Govinda Adhikari, 37, his younger brother Shyam Adhikari, 35, Shyam’s wife Mamata, Dip Narayan Gupta, 25, Shanti Gupta, 22, and Sitaram Mandal, 51. She said that she was tied, beaten up and fed human excreta by them on June 2 adding her daughter and father were also injured. She came to the police station with her father-in-law Pratham Lal, mother-in-law Kariya Devi and daughter asking for action against the perpetrators and security for herself. According to Pratham Lal, the accused had made a written commitment about a month ago promising they would not hassale Praminal. The victim is undergoing treatment at a local clinic. M
