An intern doctor, Roshan Yadav, of the hostel of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan was arrested on the charge of vandalizing the hostel by bringing friend Keshav Yadav of Saptari Bhardaha to the hostel after consuming alcohol on the night of December 27. As per the rules of the academy, non-students are not allowed in the hostel. However, Yadav is said to have entered by threatening the guards.

According to the foundation, intern Yadav was repeatedly been prosecuted for issuing a check in the name of the hospital director as well as on the charge of hitting the police with a rod after he was involved in a traffic accident while riding a motorcycle without a helmet.
