Dhankuta/June 15 Police Constable Yuvraj Pariyar, 30, has complained to SP Ishwari Prasad Chapagain at District Police Office on June 15 accusing ASI Nabaraj Karki of discriminating him on the basis of his caste. Both accused and victim are deputed at temporary police post in Dandabazar while being posted at Okhre police station in Dandabazar. Pariyar told INSEC DR that ever since his deputation at the temporary post five months ago, ASI Karki was not allowing him to eat at same place, barring him from preparing meal and not allowing him even to enter the kitchen to have second serving citing his caste. Pariyar said that he was compelled to complaint as he could no longer tolerate the discrimination and caste-based insults. When contacted, SP Chapagain said that he had received the written complaint filed by Pariyar. He added that the incident seemed minor but added that a clarification has been sought from ASI Karki. He further said that Inspector Surendra Prakash Shrestha of Rajarani Area Police Office has been asked file a report after looking into the issue. Dalit Ekata Samaj Dhankuta’s former coordinator Kopila Shankar said that Pariyar had verbally informed her about the incident and demanded action against the accused. S
