41-year-old Netra Bahadur Kaduwal, a permanent resident of Sankhwasabha, Madi Municipality-8 accused the police of beating him and his 31-year-old sister-in-law Sarita Katuwal without any reason. They sustained injuries in the chest and sensitive organs from the beating.
According to the victim, they were taken under control, beaten and verbally abused by four drunk policemen (2 in uniform and 2 in the civil dress) on January 7 while he was on his way to visit his mother. The accused policemen are identified as 35-year-old Naresh Acharya of Madi Mangalware post, 43-year-old constable Leknath Regmi, 24-year-old Dinesh Gupta and 26-year-old Ashok Thakur.
Last year, Chief of Division Forest Office, Sakhuwasabha, Khandwari accused Narad Kaduwal, brother of Netra Bahadur of hiding illegal timber and the police alleged Netra for helping Narad to run away.
