A group of local youths of around 12 people attacked employees and workers of B&B Construction Pvt. in Miklajung rural municipality-9 in Madhumalla after consuming alcohol during the night of January 14. They attacked the seven staffs deployed for river monitoring who were living on rent on the house of local Tikaram Giri demanding the commission of extraction of sand ballast from the river.
They even vandalized the house of Tikaram that damaged the doors, windows, and other materials of the house. The contractor informed the police that the youths who had absconded after the incident had taken away Rs 5 lakhs and 34 thousand.
A complaint was lodged against 28-year-old Dipesh Magar, Sabin Shrestha, Sher Bahadur Tamang,27-year-old Jason Shrestha, 21-year-old Vivek Mandal, 28-year-old Himal Magar, 21-year-old Nijan Giri and 23-year-old Sandesh Pradhan, 23. The search for the absconded accused is underway.
