Mother arrested on charge of abandoning her new-born baby in Kathmandu

A newborn baby was found in the bush in Pavitranagar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26 on January 20 after the locals heard the baby cry. The police were notified immediately and the baby's 20-year-old mother(unmarried) was found shortly after the news broke. She was arrested from Maharajgunj area.
Both the baby and mother are currently undergoing treatment at Kanti Children's Hospital. Police are conducting further investigation into the matter.
